

Carl Hampton Quebedeaux, 91, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2022 at his home in Kingwood, Texas. Carl was born on October 8, 1931 in Cut N Shoot, Texas, to parents, Elroy J. and Alice B. Quebedeaux.
Carl was named valedictorian of Conroe High School in 1950. Following graduation, he attended the University of Texas at Austin. In 1953, Carl was drafted into the U.S. Army and served 16 months in the Korean War. After returning from the war, Carl resumed his studies and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. It was during this time that he met and fell in love with the love of his life, Jane Elizabeth Bodden.
In 1959, Carl married Jane in San Francisco, California. After the wedding, they returned to Texas and he went to work for Texaco. During the early years of their marriage, they moved many times with the oil industry including living in Trinidad and Tobago. They were blessed with two wonderful daughters, Kaylynn and Leigh Anne.
Carl worked in the oil industry for fifty years including Texaco, Superior Oil and Davis Lynch both offshore and onshore operations. He also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member at Lone Star College for over ten years where he taught Real Estate Law Principles. Carl retired from the oil industry in 2001. He enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the states and internationally as often as possible.
Carl was a founding member of First Presbyterian Church of Kingwood where he served on numerous committees and as an Elder. He was an active member of Kindred Spirits and the Retired Men’s Bible Study where he loved sharing fellowship.
Carl loved the Texas Longhorns, especially Longhorn football. He loved to watch the games with his family. Burnt orange was his favorite color.
As a grandfather, he attended the various sporting events of all his grandsons. He was their biggest fan and was always ready to talk strategy for the next game. He taught them how to cook pancakes when they were young and his famous pork ribs when they were older.
According to Carl, “My family is the best thing to have happened to me”. He believed in the Holy Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. His faith has carried him through many obstacles during his life time. He believed Jane “is my wonderful companion and soul mate. I truly believe all that we have is a direct result of our love for one another”.
Carl is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane; daughter, Kaylynn Williford and husband Steve Williford; daughter, Leigh Anne Moore; Grandsons: Steven Williford, Jr. and wife, Katy Williford, Bryant Williford and wife, Anna Williford, Garrett Moore and Marshall Moore; Great-Grandson: S.J. Williford; Nieces: Carolyn Boldt and husband, Scott Boldt and their family; Sandra Tetley and husband, Thomas Tetley and their family; Dana Porter and husband, David Porter and their family; Nephew: Michael Deison and wife, Tracie Deison and their family.
In Leiu of usual remembrances, the family requests donations be made to St. Judes charities.
