John Douglas "Doug" Fugler has "gone fishing" with his dad in Heaven. Doug, like his dad, had a one of a kind sense of humor and enjoyed the simple life. He loved the beach, surfing, boating, and spending time with his two greatest joys - sons, Gage and Gunar. He had such a good heart and he loved his whole family greatly. He loved playing with his nephews and niece; giving them toys, sneaking them treats, and loving them as much as possible. Doug was a hardworking man who could design, build, or fix anything. His skills were limitless.
Doug was born to John Guy Fugler and Patricia Ann Hardy on June 14, 1968, in Baton Rouge, LA. In 1981, he moved with his family to Humble, TX and graduated from Humble High School in 1986. While growing up in Humble, Doug enjoyed surfing, BMX, playing baseball and later, an interest in cars and auto body repair. He went on to open his own auto body repair business in Kingwood. In 2001,
Doug launched his new company, DI Restoration, providing professional general contracting services. In January, 2015, Doug partnered with his sister, Jill, to help expand her home decor business. Doug designed and built beautiful, unique furniture and home decor that we will cherish forever.
With each of his son's births, Doug was overjoyed. Working for himself provided him the opportunity to spend an invaluable amount of time with his boys. He relished every moment with them. Traveling, wake boarding, Motocross and even young entrepreneurship. He supported his boys completely and unconditionally. They were his greatest accomplishment. He was beyond proud.
While Doug's time on earth has ended, we celebrate his reunion with his dad; we can see them now fishing on the greatest rivers and lakes in Heaven.
Doug is preceded in death by his father and best friend, John G. Fugler as well as his maternal grandmother, Alice Hardy; paternal grandmother, Lucille Fugler; and his Uncle "Sonny."
