It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elmer H.C. Romeis, affectionately known as Chris. Born on June 15, 1942, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, to William and Dorothy Romeis, Chris grew up surrounded by six siblings. He is survived by his only remaining sister, Joan Romeu of Kentucky.
Chris leaves behind his cherished family, including his wife Carol with whom he shared a loving marriage for 56 years. He is also survived by his son Kevin and daughter-in-law Veronika, his beloved grandchildren Harper and Lincoln, and his daughter Karyn.
In his youth, Chris was known for his dedication to farming and his prowess in athletics. He was a standout at Norristown High School, where he played football and wrestled, captaining both teams his senior year and receiving the Outstanding Senior Award.
He furthered his education at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pa., where he was a proud member and president of the Alpha Chi Rho fraternity. Chris continued his athletic career in college, captaining the football team his senior year. He was one of eight recipients of the Temple Owl Award upon graduating.
A man of many interests, Chris enjoyed swimming and diving in his younger days and later developed a passion for golf and travel, with Italy holding a special place in his heart as his favorite destination.
Above all, Chris treasured the time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
**Military Service:**
Chris served in the Army Reserves for 8 years with the 302nd ATC at Willow Grove, PA.
Professionally, he navigated through various roles, culminating in his position as Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and his election to the board of directors before his retirement in 2009.
