Michael William Beirne (Mike) moved to his new home in heaven on Saturday, September 24, 2022 after battling cancer. Mike was born in Galveston on August 15, 1949. Mike was on a football scholarship at the University of Texas in El Paso when he met his wife Bonnie and they have been married over 53 years. They had the opportunity to live in Boston, Massachusetts and Jacksonville, Florida before moving to Kingwood, Texas in 1982 where they have lived for over 40 years. Mike traveled to Las Vegas with his wife for a number of years where he played in Black Jack Tournaments, played Texas Hold’em and went to a number of shows while staying at the Stardust.
Mike was a wonderful husband, brother, uncle, in-law and friend. Mike had a generous heart and helped many friends and family members over the years. Mike was a lover of animals and his best friends for over 17 years were Bernie and over 12 years Maddie, his Westie dogs.
Mike achieved his BBA and MBA from Lamar University in Beaumont Texas. He had a successful career as a Merger/Acquisition Analyst, Branch Manager and General Contractor. Mike was an author and wrote 2 books, “Bernie Meets the Animals” and “Choose Well”.
Mike spent many hours blogging on https://www.kingwood.com He loved sharing his political opinions, helping someone with a home construction question or just sharing information. The Kingwood.com family played an important role in Mike’s life with their generosity, support and prayers. Mike also had a coffee group that met on Wednesdays for years at Starbucks, McDonalds and recently at Coco’s. He looked forward to their discussions and was grateful for their friendships.
Mike had a deep love for all sports and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed golf, tennis, racquetball, running 10Ks in Boston and visits to his local gym 3 to 4 times a week. He introduced his wife to all sports which became an important part of their everyday lives.
Mike will be watching the Dallas Cowboys from heaven and will be our guardian angel. We love you Mike and you will be missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Westie & Scottie Rescue of Houston or the American Cancer Society.
