Nona Rea Haba

She was born on May 9, 1943, in Gilmer, Texas, and lived a life full of love, kindness, and laughter. On June 24, 1967, she married the love of her life, Gilbert J. Haba, and together they built a beautiful family. He preceded her in death, and we find comfort knowing they are reunited.

She loved to laugh, cheer on her Houston Astros, watch On Patrol: Live, and, most of all, spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Nona was also preceded in death by her parents and many siblings. Nona is survived by her son, James and his wife Shell, her daughter, Joyce and her husband Tony; and her grandchildren, Taylor, Megan, Ashley and Austin.

Her faith in Jesus guided her life, and we find peace knowing she is now free from pain and at home with the Lord.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Deborah Charles for the wonderful care she provided while Nona was in hospice, and to Shell for her continued care, love, and support 24/7 once Nona returned home, extending what we were told were her final days, into weeks.

She was deeply loved and will forever be missed.
