Priscilla, I was saddened to hear of Richard's recent passing. I had the pleasure of working with him at Kingwood Country Club for a number of years. He was a conscientious and gregarious man who was an asset to our team. He was one of the good guys, and I will miss our interactions at the course. My prayers are that God will bless and comfort you and your family.

I first met Richard when we played little league baseball for the Eagles at Hidalgo Park back in 1961 or 1962. He used to walk or ride his bike to my house there in the 7200 block of Avenue N and from there we would walk a short distance to the park. I specifically remember one game day that he did not show up because a squirrel had bitten him on one of his fingers. My parents became close friends with his parents. When it came time for my prom and I was too shy to ask someone, his parents arranged for me to take his sister, Janie (15 years old at the time) to Sylvan Beach for the Milby Latin American Prom. She fell asleep on the way home.
We all make decisions and have a purpose in life. Base on what I heard from the speakers on the video, Richard led a fulfilling life and his love for baseball was shared with close friends and family.
He is probably putting out fires and showing baseball skills to others in HEAVEN.

Condolences to all who met n loved Richard during his life. I met Richard when he started playing with my husbands softball team, or maybe he recruited my husband, Not knowing as we spoke he knew most of my family, siblings , ,cousins etc. They played at many parks In Magnolia, n other barrios. Always a gentleman n very respectful. Good Athlete. He always spoke highly of my Uncle Mario Gallegos, n how he recruited him and many others in HFD.. I pray his family find comfort. Magnolia Park mourns along with his family one of her own.

My Famila,
We are so heart broken from the passing of our Uncle Richard. In dads (Joe Tellez) case his baby brother, but we know grandma Lucy, Pops, uncle Tony, Janie and Sabrina were there to welcome you home to GOD'S kingdom. A place where you will no longer suffer. A place you will rejoice in. A place far away from us but still in our hearts. Please keep that watchful eye over the family and rest in paradise. Until we see each other again, we love you more!

As our daughters grew up together Richard was always there being so involved with the girls and making sure they were safe and had rides to all their many places they had to be. I was so thankful for reliable and caring parents like TheTellez’s. Rest In Peace sweet man.

Have known Richard since the Magnolia Park Little League days when he played for Dad. My first meeting but lots more to come from Edison and Milby days. Yes always a nice person, good athlete. Can't recall ever hearing him utter a dislike for anyone. And Dad was quite found of him. After doing his yard in my retirement and he would reminisce Richard's name would be one of the first he would recall. Our sincerest condolences to his family.

My uncle Richard was a very kind in spirit and always laughing. Growing up he would come visit my dad Felix in California with the girls over the summer and we would all vacation together and go to the amusement parks.
Fun times!!
I remember when I started my Security & Safety position I would ask him questions about OSHA stuff. He was smart 😊
You will be dearly missed.

My daddy, I am going to miss you so much!
I know we didn’t spend as much time together as we should have but I know you loved me as much as I loved you & I will always be your baby! You were always there when I needed you most and that’s what matters! You made sure to call on my birthday and every single holiday, we’d talk for at least an hour... I’m going to miss that! I’m going to miss you... I knew this day would eventually come but never did I think it’d come so soon! I love you daddy! ❤️Your baby
