Thomas was a resident of Kingwood ,Texas since 2002. He loved the many years of living in Kingwood. He previously resided in Astoria and Maspeth in Queens, New York. The son of the late Thomas and Catherine Quinn (County Mayo, Ireland), he was born on April 7, 1934 in New York City. Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy and United States Merchant Marines. Thomas worked for the NYC Department of Highways for 27 years. He retired as a foreman in 1994. Thomas was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. He was also a previous member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Orange County, New York.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Quinn (Hosey) of 56 years, his adoring daughters Karen Quinn McNamara of Kingwood, Texas, Cathy Quinn McNamara of Kingwood, Texas, adoring granddaughters Kathleen Grady Quinn and Roisin McNamara. Son in laws Brian McNamara and Brendan McNamara of Kingwood, Texas. He is also survived by his brother Patrick Quinn of Sun City Center, Florida. Brother and sister in laws: James and Eileen Cappock, Long Island, New York, Nora Donahue, Long Island, New York, Josie Hosey, Maspeth, New York, Thomas Duffy, Bayside, New York, Michael and Betty Hosey of County Laois, Ireland, Joseph and Mary Hosey of County Laois, Ireland and Patrick and Breda Hosey of County Laois, Ireland. He is adored by his many cousins, nieces and nephews. He has many treasured friends. Anyone who met Tommy will always remember him. Tommy never met a stranger. He will be missed beyond measure.
He is predeceased by his precious daughter Donna Quinn who died in infancy, brother John (Jack) Quinn, sister Margaret Morgan, brother Andrew Quinn, sister Nancy Quinn. Brother in laws James Hosey, James Donahue and Matthew Morgan. Sister in laws Mary Quinn, Catherine Duffy and Dorothy Farrell. Son in law, Paul Grady, nephew Danny Farrell, nephew Thomas Farrell, nephew Patrick Hosey, niece Laura Quinn Porter and niece Brenda Hosey who died in infancy and his cherished Father in law and Mother in law, Patrick and Mary Hosey.
Funeral mass will take place at St. Mary’s Winfield - address: 70-31 48th Avenue (@72nd St & 48th Ave) Woodside, New York, 11377 on Friday June 11th at 11am.
Thomas’ final resting place will be at the United States National Cemetery (Houston Veterans Cemetery) in Houston, Texas.
