Annie will be deeply missed by her nephews Jeff, David and Mark (2020) and fondly remembered as a beloved great-aunt to Cortney, Garett (2024), Rebekah, David, Jakob, Chris, and Mark. She is also missed by her beloved companion in later life, Ernest Niedermayer and his family.
Predeceased by her parents Heinrich and Katharina, brother Emmerich, and sister Katie Hobrath.
Born in Hungary, Annie made Canada her home, bringing with her a vibrant spirit and a deep appreciation for family. Though she never cared much for cooking, she loved gathering around the table with her loved ones, always enjoying a warm meal and even warmer company.
Annie had a zest for life that never faded—she was always smiling, finding joy in the everyday and adventure in the unfamiliar. She loved travelling to warm places and, through Ernest, discovered new passions in fishing, boating, and a deep affection for dogs—especially dear Maggie.
Family was everything to Annie, and her warmth, kindness, and joyful laugh will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Annie's Life will be held at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. on Sunday, July 27th from 2 - 5pm. Private family burial to take place at St. Peter's Lutheran Cemetery.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Sunnyside Home – Laurel Creek, whose care and compassion meant so much during Annie’s stay there.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunnyside Foundation.
