It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Augustus Charles James Tucker, (Guss) who passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at St. Mary’s General hospital in Kitchener at the age of 45 surrounded by loved ones.
Born on March 26, 1981, Guss lived a life defined by generosity, compassion, and an unwavering desire to help those around him. Whether through his work in the culinary arts or his countless acts of kindness, he touched the lives of many with his warm heart and selfless spirit.
Guss had a true passion for cooking and found great joy in tending to his gardens, carefully growing fresh ingredients that became the foundation of his remarkable home-cooked meals. He believed that food had the power to bring people together, and there was nothing he enjoyed more than sharing a meal with family and friends. His love of gardening, cooking, and hospitality reflected the care and thoughtfulness he brought to every aspect of his life.
Known for his generous nature, Guss was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He freely gave his time through volunteer work and found fulfillment in supporting others without expecting anything in return. His kindness, humility, and infectious sense of humour left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.
Augustus was predeceased by his sister, Beverly Tucker, and his mother-in-law, Theresa Higo.
He leaves behind his devoted spouse, Michael McBride; his loving parents, Augustus and Lorrie Tucker; his cherished siblings, Tanya (Sean), Marsha (Ronnie), Trena (Hank), Courtney and Derek (Stephanie); along with many extended family members, dear friends, and all whose lives were enriched by his kindness and friendship.
A celebration of Augustus’ life will be announced at a later date and will be held in the fall.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in support of Michael by e-transfer to [email protected].
Though deeply missed, Augustus’ love, witty humour, and memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the opportunity and privilege of knowing him. His legacy of kindness, generosity, and love will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
