Bill was my District Manager (DM) for the majority of time I spent working in the LCBO Retail store system in KW (1982-1991). During this time Bill was extremely supportive of both myself and my IMPACT District Trainer colleague, Mark Hoshoian. Bill gave me opportunities to grow outside my comfort zone and for that I will be forever grateful. His support changed the trajectory of my career as I left District 6 for an opportunity in Head Office. I was so fortunate to be able to see Bill at our semi-annual week-long Retail University (RU) Conferences where, in the off-hours, we had great chats & conversations about District 6 & of course, our families. This continued until his retirement, I believe in and around 2000. Treasured times indeed. 

It had been many years since Bill & I connected, but much to my surprise, Bill reached out to me in 2019 when I was diagnosed with cancer.  He sent me numerous sincere, heartfelt emails encouraging me to be strong & reminding me how precious life was. I took the opportunity to thank Bill for his support of me during my career and during my cancer battle. I’m so glad I did that! No regrets! In fact, I still have those emails & took the opportunity to re-read them this week. So glad I let him know how much I appreciated him.

Bill, you were one of a kind. You will always be remembered. Rest in peace as you are reunited with your beloved wife, Lee & son, Ryan. I’m sure this is an extremely difficult time for your son, Brad. May he be comforted by your memory and in knowing the impact you made.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing.  As LCBO Media Relations Coordinator, I had the pleasure of working with Bill on a few occasions and always found him to be  a helpful colleague and a true gentleman.

Dragonfly - Fly High My Friend. 

Dragonfly’s were a very special symbol for Bill.  Whenever we were out together if we saw a dragonfly we would stop and remember his son Ryan.  Having flown the earth for 300 millon years, dragonflies symbolize our ablity to overcome times of hardship. They can remind us to take time to reconnect with our own strength, courage and
happiness.

Brad. To you and your family. Our condolences. Bill has been a good friend and part of our little get together group for many years. He will be missed greatly as a person with great humor but also as a great friend who kept us in laughter all these years. Bill will always be with us in our thoughts. Bill you are still part of our group and everytime laughter occurs we still remember when Bill said that or Bill did that. With Love my friend. Always.

Bill MacNeil was a quiet, soft-spoken, polite, intelligent gentleman in the truest sense of the word. I worked with Bill on many occasions. Bill's sense of humour was always a true delight.

Firstly, my sincere condolences to Bill’s family.
I worked with Bill the years he was LCBO District 6 Manager, often filling in for him when he was away. He and I got along very well and I appreciated his dry sense of humour! He was dedicated to his job and always gave his best for the LCBO and his fellow employees in all the stores he looked after. When I was helping at his office, he, Ann and I worked so well together and also had some fun times. I will miss him.

Bill was my LCBO District Manager.  We affectionately referred to him as "Radar", since he looked like Gary Burghoff.  Bill always had a silly 'dad-type' joke to tell and I enjoyed working with him for the years that I did.  Rest easy, Bill.❤
