September 15, 1943 – October 21, 2025
It is with deep love and gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Carmina Trinidad Pérez Llensa, who went home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Born on September 15, 1943, in Habana, Cuba, Carmina was the beloved daughter of Demi Jimenez and Pepin Llensa, and cherished sister to Evarista.
Carmina’s life was a beautiful melody—one composed of faith, family, and music. Her gift for the piano and her love for music began early, as she produced “lead sheets” of popular songs on the radio for her father, Pepin’s trio. She blossomed into a remarkable career that started with the Ballet of Cuba. That same gift would later flourish in her ministry as a choir director, worship leader, teacher, and preacher, first in Santo Suárez, Cuba, and then for over 42 years at Iglesia Evangélica Hispana in Toronto. Through her faith and Bible teaching, Carmina inspired generations to worship with joy and to live by the light of God’s word.
She was the devoted wife of her beloved husband of 59 years, Eusebio Gabino Pérez, who preceded her into eternity, and the loving mother of Otoniel (Liz) and Abel (Karen). Carmina took great pride and joy in her grandchildren—Kaylee Elise, Jessy Amanda (Braydon), Lesly Raquel, Kaitlyn Alicia, and Jaydon Timoteo—and was overjoyed to welcome her great-grandson, Emilio Ocean, in late August this year.
Carmina loved her family deeply and treasured every moment spent together—whether it was organizing Monday dinners for her growing family, visiting Niagara-on-the-Lake, or enjoying family vacations to Miami and the Caribbean, where her laughter and warmth filled every space. She also found great joy in travelling with her husband and members of the church to bring help and encouragement to the church in the Spanish-speaking world.
A woman of unwavering faith, strength, and resilience, Carmina’s life was a testimony to the sustaining grace of God. Through every trial, she remained steadfast, finding joy in the promises of her Lord and Saviour. In her final years, Carmina’s journey with Alzheimer’s was met with the same faith and resilience that defined her life. Though time and memory slipped away, her spirit remained anchored in God’s love and the melody of her faith.
When her beloved husband, Eusebio, passed away, her life changed forever, yet she faced the sadness, uncertainty, and pain with courage and faith. Trusting that God still had a purpose for her, she embraced a new chapter at Winston Park, forming new friendships and leaving a lasting impact. All the while, she waited with peaceful anticipation for the moment her Lord would call her home. Carmina could not wait to be with Jesus—and now, she is. Her legacy of faith, love, and music will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Celebration of Life for Carmina will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at 11:00 am at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener, Ontario. Service is will be viewable via webcasting: https://fweb.tv/230660
