Claude Albert Herteis

Passed away at St. Mary’s General Hospital on Wednesday, October 7, 2015, at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Joan Herteis (nee Lowe). Dear father of Sherry Ivankovic (Roland), Shelley Cook (David), and Steven Herteis (Linda). Loving grandfather of Ryan (Stephanie), Michael, Scott (Jessica), Jenna, Tabatha (Jesse), Kurtis, and Carson and great grandfather of Owen, Jayda, Summer, and Madisyn. Dear brother of Bernice Dubrick (late Howard), Jean Willson (late Gord), Helen Holtz (Ken), Carl Herteis, and Carolyn Doherty (Doug). Predeceased by his grandson Tommy Herteis, his sister Anne Ruth Riff, and his parents Clarence and Eileen Herteis. Claude completed five years of service in the Royal Canadian Navy including a tour during the Korean War. He retired as Captain of the Kitchener Fire Department after 35 years of service. Claude will be dearly missed by his former colleagues and his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Claude’s family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Thursday, October 15, 2015, from 10:00 – 10:45 am, where the memorial service will be held in the chapel at 11:00 am.
