Edith Anna Wuest

She is survived by her only and beloved son Joachim and daughter-in-law Ena.

Edith leaves behind her sister Ruth with whom she shared a very special bond.

She also leaves behind family and friends with whom she shared a wonderful life: Helena, Rick, Michaela , Aaron, Liam, Alexis, Kyler, Willy, Henk, Arno, Clasine, Kim, Ross, Kyle, Quinn, Darlene, Dale, Colleen and Steve.

She enjoyed many wonderful moments with the Summerhill Gang - Wendy, Brittany, Paula, Ben, Anna and her special friend Rebecca (with whom she shared many weekly tea parties).

We can’t forget her special table mates at Chartwell; Marilyn, Cher, and Sandy, whose company she enjoyed so much. Here’s to Friday night Grilled Cheese Sandwiches!

Edith immigrated to Canada in 1971 as a single mother with her son. She enrolled herself at Conestoga College to learn English. She found employment at Weiland Ford, in Kitchener where she work for 25 years in the office providing accounting and payroll.

Edith loved to cook for her family and friends. She was well known for her rouladen, Christmas Stollen, and German potato salad. When Rick and Helena celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, she made 30 lbs. of potato salad to accompany the meal.

Over the years, Edith travelled to Egypt, cruised the Nile, took an Alaskan cruise with her friend Hildred, and also went to Madeira, England, Greece, Germany, and Holland.

Ediths greatest gift was her unwavering love for her son and daughter in law.

Cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date at Williamsburg Cemetery.

We would like to offer a Special thank you to Dr. Tan and the nurses who took exceptional care of Edith during her final journey. Thank you to the wonderful “angel” volunteers who went above and beyond to provide comfort and care not only for Edith but for also for Joachim and Ena.

As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations would be appreciated to Hospice Waterloo Region.
