Passed away peacefully at WRHN @ Midtown on August 8th at the age of 83.
Gary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his children Stephanie (Mike Brenneman) and Cathy (Ben Barrett), step-daughter Jill (Trevor Klemick), and grandchildren Cole and Brianna Barrett and Travis (Eryka) and Jasper Klemick.
Gary was predeceased by his wife Pam Oliver of 30 years, and by his parents Percy and Clara Colmer.
Gary was a life-long cottager and boater. He purchased his first boat and motor at the age of 12 and loved zipping around Peach Lake and waterskiing with his sister Donna and friends. His love of the water continued into adulthood with summer memories on Lake Muskoka and Haliburton Lake, with sunset boat rides, making waves for his daughters in the lake, as well as pulling his grandchildren on the tube. Gary loved to travel, especially on cruises with Pam. He was an avid reader and loved watching sports, including his grandchildren’s activities.
Visitation will be held on Saturday August 15th from 11-12 pm at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener, followed by a memorial service at noon. A private family interment will follow the memorial service. Memorial donations may be made to the Complex Continuing Care - WRHN @ Chicopee.
