Born November 6th, 1923, passed away suddenly in hospital February 14th,2018. Beloved husband of his devoted wife of 69 years, Ursula (nee Klem). Father to Angelika Summers (Paul, deceased) and Larry Kuhn (Beverley). Opa to Kyla Alamillo (Mauricio), Karolynn Summers Arndt (Trevor) and Amberley Kuhn. Great grandfather to Briar, Reed and Cameryn. As a 14yr old cabin boy in the German Merchant Marines, he was captured at the start of WWII and spent 6 years as a Civiliian P.O.W. in Canada. After repatriation to Germany and marriage to his young bride, he returned to Canada to start a new life; "a good life with my wife". Thanks to Dr. Darren Knibutat and the staff at GRH for giving Herbert the fighting chance he wanted for more of that good life. Cremation has taken place. The family will be remembering Herbert in private.
