Born in Mattawa on February 25, 1941. Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital on June 13, 2022 at the age of 81. Irene was predeceased by her son Marc Chauvin and her longtime companion Arnold Simon.
She was a loving mother to Bernice (Bob Arseneault), Marcel (Jean), Dennis and Patricia Chauvin.
Step mother to Tasha (Jason). Irene was adored by her grandchildren Tara (Ryan Buchan), Melissa (Mike Christensen),Greg (Alex Freund), Dylan Chauvin, Brandon (Sara), Chantal Chauvin, Kelsie Sorensen and Julia and Gavin Costello and 11 great-grandchildren.
Irene is predeceased by her parents Albert and Helen (nee Gilbeault) Therrien. Brothers Francis (Helen) and Roy (Lita) Therrien, and sisters Marion (Nelson) Gravelle, Ella (Fern) Gravelle. She is survived by her sisters Jean (Art) Brown, Dorothe (Bill) Woods. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations would be appreciated to KidsAbility.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial visitation will be held Thursday June 23rd, 2022 at 11:00 am followed by a Celebration of her Life at 12:00 pm at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre. The family wishes to thank the nurses and PSW at Parkwoood Mennonite home for caring for Irene.
