Beloved husband of Maria Melo for 57 years. Dear father of Beatrice Goulart (Jose), Steeven Melo (Raylene Currie), and Joe Melo (Karen). Loved grandfather of Vanessa (Cesar), Katalina (Shawn), Matthew (Kati), Ethan, Darren, Trent, Lila, and Maya, and great grandfather of Mikaela, Lucas, Stephanie, and Aiden. Also remembered by his brothers and sisters in Portugal, and his extended family. Predeceased by his granddaughter Stephanie (2009) and by his 2 brothers Joao and Manuel.
Jose loved fishing and spending time with his family at home and at his trailer. He also enjoyed playing his guitars and putting on a performance for family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jose's family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 5:00 - 9:00 p.m., with Prayers at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, 305 Laurentian Drive, Kitchener, on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Williamsburg Cemetery, Kitchener.
