Josef Schmidt in his 100th year, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 12, 2015, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Dearly loved husband of 67 years to the late Theresa (nee Scherl) (2009), and cherished father of Elizabeth (Sigi) Tondt and Heidi Nimmo. He leaves precious memories with his six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Predeceased by his son Josef (1992), lovingly remembered by his daughter in law Dianne Schmidt-Matthews. Friends and Family will gather at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900) on Friday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Service to celebrate Josef’s life will be in the chapel at 1:00, cremation to follow, delayed interment of cremated remains at Woodland Cemetery.
