Joseph Joey Brent

Born in the Netherlands on November 17, 1929 he immigrated to Canada in 1948. He worked in Eastern Canada before moving to Ontario to pursue his education living in Guelph and later moving to Cornwall, Stratford and Kitchener.

He is survived by his daughters Deanna Brent of Markham (Mike, Megan and Aidan Gooley), Janet Brent of Waterloo (Steve Babstock) and Joanne McKee of Alma (Trevor, Katrina and Owen). He is also survived by his sisters in Holland (Marie, Janna, Truus, Willie and Wijntje) and his brother Evert in Brampton. He was predeceased by his parents Jan and Janna Blaauwendraat (nee VandeLaagemaat), brothers Jan, Frank, Gerry and Arand and his sisters Trinjtje and Geertje.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Winston Park and St. Mary’s Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care.

The family will receive friends from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Tuesday, October 1st at Westmount Funeral Chapel, 1001 Ottawa St South, Kitchener ON. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday October 2nd in the funeral home chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
