Mom,

Our relationship was not always simple. We spent many years walking separate paths, and there were times when distance and hurt stood between us. Because of that, I will never take for granted the gift we were given in the end.

Living across the country, I worried that I would not make it home in time. Instead, I was blessed with the opportunity to sit with you, hold your hand, and know that you recognized me. Being able to tell you I loved you and say goodbye is something I will forever be grateful for.

In those final days, the past seemed less important than the peace we were able to find together. I will always cherish the chance we had to reconnect and the comfort of knowing that, despite everything, we found our way back to one another.

Our story was not perfect, but it was real. And in the end, there was love, understanding, and grace.

Rest peacefully, Mom. You will remain in my heart always.
