The family of Ken are heartbroken by his passing on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Freeport Hospital, surrounded by love, after a lengthy illness. Now reunited with his wife Ellen (2013), the love of his life for 60 years.
He leaves behind a loving family: daughters Debbie (Bob) Mondoux, Diane Traplin, and Denise (Ken) Hetherington; grandchildren Tina (Rob), Chad (2019), Carrie, Mike (Michele), Jeffrey, Josh, Danielle (Stéphane), Michael (Gabrielle), Jessica (Chris), Laura (Sean), and Katelyn (Rebecca); great-grandchildren Cody, Katie, Keenan, Sequoia, Aziza, Madison, Emma, Silas, Charlotte, McKinna, James, Justin, Lucas, Kennedy and Teagan; and a great-great-grandchild, Elenora. He is also survived by his siblings Johnny, Barb (Ed), and Paul (Diane), predeceased by his parents Simon and Melinda, brother Allan, and sister Mary.
Ken dedicated 43 years to his career at The Record. Beyond work, his life was filled with music. He not only loved to sing, but he also actively shared his passion. In the 1960s, he founded the choir at St. Louis Church, and for over 30 years, he was a proud member of the Schneider Male Chorus. When not creating beautiful harmonies, he could be found in his workshop doing woodworking projects. Trains also held a special place in his heart. Ken was a social man who thrived on connecting with people. Ken’s memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and the melody he leaves behind in the hearts of those who knew him.
A special thank you to Dr. Koke and staff for the care given to Ken during his time with them.

A beautiful life that came to an end, he died as he lived, everyone’s friend. In our hearts, a memory will always be kept, of one we loved, and will never forget.
