Beloved wife of the late John Johann Brodt (1999). Dear mother of Robert Brodt (Mary) and Anna Brodt (Bruce). Loved grandmother of Jamy (Angie), Adam, Erik, Alexander (Sofia), and Kristen (Shaya) and great grandmother of Darius, Maddox, Preston, and Aaliyah. Dear sister of Ola and Anna.
Lina met and married John Brodt in 1943 in Grunau, Ukraine. She had a deep love of children, working as a pediatric nurse in the Ukraine. After settling in Canada, she would often be seen working at the Kitchener and St. Jacobs Farmer’s Markets. Lina loved music, gardening, and cottage life—even helping build a cottage at one point! She was also familiar with 4 other languages: Ukrainian, Russian, German, and Polish. Lina will always be remembered as a caregiver to others and as a helper—particularly by the nurses and staff at PeopleCare A.R. Goudie, to whom the family wishes to express their sincere thanks for their care and attention to Lina over the years.
Cremation has taken place and a private time of remembrance has been held by the family. Interment at a later date at Parkview Cemetery.
