Linda Stredwick

Linda was the cherished wife and partner of Michael Stredwick for 54 years. She was a loving mother to Kirby (Krista) and Clinton (Leanne), and the proud Nana of Lauren, Thomas, and James. She will be deeply missed by her extended family in Newfoundland as well as by her many treasured friends. Linda was predeceased by her parents, Grant and Minnie Napier, and by her two infant brothers.

A woman of deep faith, Linda was a devoted member of St. George’s of Forest Hill Anglican Church, where she actively participated in parish life. Her love for Christ was the foundation of everything she did. She quietly reflected His love and grace through her kindness, open heart, and the selfless way she cared for others. She firmly believed in helping those in need and always had a warm hug and a kind word for everyone she met.

Throughout her life, Linda loved to travel, visiting Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Alaska, and across the UK. Yet as a proud Newfoundlander, her heart always pulled her back home to Sandy Cove to enjoy bakeapple jam, moose soup, and fish and brewis.

Anyone visiting Linda and Mike’s home could always count on a hot cup of tea and a bite to eat. Social by nature, Linda brought joy to everything she took part in, whether it was Oktoberfest, dances, bingo, playing cards with friends, or preparing meals for friends and family.

Above all else, Linda's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She cherished every opportunity to support their school and sporting activities, complete jigsaw puzzles together, bake cookies, and create lasting memories. Her love for her family was boundless and unwavering. Linda was also a devoted animal lover who always shared her home with beloved dogs and cats, caring for each with the same generosity and affection she showed to everyone around her.

Family will receive guests at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, for visitation for both Linda and Mike on Friday, August 14, 2026, from 1:00 - 3:00 and 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place.

A service of remembrance honouring their lives will take place at St. George’s of Forest Hill Anglican Church, 321 Fischer-Hallman Rd., Kitchener, on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with another service to follow in Newfoundland at Holy Cross Anglican Church in Eastport.

As an expression of sympathy, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society, the Waterloo Regional Health Network Foundation, or to a charity of your choice.
