

Died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family, at her home in Brantford, Ontario, Canada on Tuesday, November 14, 2001 at the age of 68 years.
Gentle and supportive mother of Telma and her fiance Joe Garcia, Magda Aleman and her husband Carlos of Guatemala, Estuardo and his wife Pam, Luis and his wife Alicia, Carlos and his wife Lisa and Claudia Kartick and her husband Chris of Brampton. Loving "Mamita" of Thelma de Segura (Luis Fernando), Mauricio, Maggie Chacon (Victor), Bethany, Darren, William, Valerie, Daniel, Racheal, Abigail, Krista and two great-grandchildren, Natalie and Matthew.
Magda's memory will be cherished by her two surviving brothers, Armando and Ceferino and their wives; cousin Olga Barrios; her many nieces and nephews and all of her many friends in Guatemala, the United States and Canada.
Magda moved to Canada after her retirement 12 years ago, to follow her children to a new land of opportunity. Her greatest joy was to witness her children established in this great country and to gather all of the family for special occasions and holidays to enjoy the grandchildren.
Forever grateful to Victorian Order of Nurses for their guidance, care and compassion throughout this difficult time.
Friends will be received at THORPE BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 96 West Street on Thursday, November 16, 2000 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral Service will be held at New Life Pentecostal Assembly, 85 Clench Avenue, Brantford, on Friday, November 17, 2000 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at Oakhill Cemetery.
In Magda's memory, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
