She was 75 years of age. Mary spent 54 years as a doting wife to her husband, Gary. She was selfless in her love for her three children, grandchildren and great grandchild. Never has a woman given so much to others while not expecting anything in return. The only thing she might demand was a cookie or two from Tim Hortons. Mary would go on countless shopping trips - for everyone but herself. She thought only of others and their celebrations, success, losses and triumphs. This is a testament to all the unopened gifts she bought for others and forgot to deliver. Her love of flowers and her plans for the seeds she collected was for a garden she intended to plant that would illuminate as brightly as she did. Mary never had a negative word or complaint. She was a devote Catholic and lived as an example of goodness to others. Never has a person crossed her path that didn’t fall in love with her kind nature and big heart. She liked music and spent hours listening to old country. She was a talented painter, a self-taught guitar, banjo and mandolin player and loved to cook for her family- many times eating a cold meal herself to ensure her family was looked after.
Truly an Angel, she will be greatly missed. Mary’s family will receive friends at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., (at Westmount Rd.) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., vigil prayers will be at 3:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 305 Laurentian Dr., on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Spring interment will be at St. Anne’s Cemetery, Riversdale, Ontario. As expressions of sympathy, monetary donations to the Waterloo Region Food Bank would be greatly appreciated.
