Now reunited with his loving wife Mary (2023). Cherished father to John (Tracey), Kelly, and Patrick (Nicole). Dear grandpa to Victoria (Dustin), Kylie (Sean), Catherine, Hayden, Rebecca (Ryan), Stephen (Paisley), Elizabeth and Liam. Loved brother of Christine Morton.
Predeceased by parents Henry and Helene, sister Jinny, brothers Douglas and Father Pat McKelvie, and brother-in-law Ron.
Family meant everything to him, and there was nothing that brought him more happiness than spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren. He was a proud board member of the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association and enjoyed giving back to the community and supporting young players. He worked for many years as a carpenter at St. Mary's Hospital. In his spare time, he loved woodworking and could often be found in his workshop building and fixing things with care and pride.
Friends and relatives may visit Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S. Kitchener, on Thursday, August 6th, 2026, from 1-3 pm and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 49 Blueridge Ave on Friday, August 7th, 2026, at 10:00 am. Cremation to follow. Mike will be laid to rest at Williamsburg Cemetery with Mary.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mike's memory may be made to the Canadian Lung Association or St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
