Muriel Ryan Kirby

Muriel Kirby (nee Ryan), formerly of Kincardine, surrounded by her husband and daughters,

passed away peacefully following a lengthy illness, at Sunnyside Nursing Home in Kitchener on

Friday, December 5, 2014, in her 87th year.

She will be sadly missed by her husband John, and her daughters Valerie (Tim), Diane (Martin),

and Sylvia. Cherished Nana to Shannon, John, James, Robert and Laura. Fondly remembered by

brother-in-law Michael Kirby, sister-in-law Lorna Kirby, and many nieces and nephews in England.

Muriel was predeceased by her parents William and Beatrice Ryan, sister Marion Elliker, brother

Raymond and nephew Michael Elliker, in Loughborough, U.K.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to Dr. Tom Irvine and the staff of Laurel

Creek at Sunnyside Nursing Home for their wonderful care and support. Also the dedication of the

Volunteer community, for their support during Muriel’s stay at Sunnyside Nursing Home.

A memorial service will take place on Monday December 15, 2014, at 1pm. at the Anglican Church

of the Messiah in Kincardine, with Reverend Rob Hiscox officiating. Muriel’s ashes will be

scattered in the Garden of Remembrance following the service.

In lieu of flowers, Muriel’s family would be grateful for any donations to be given to the Alzheimer Society.
