Norma Mireya Gómez, a woman of remarkable strength. She passed away on October 14, 2026, at the age of 79.
Her faith was the heart of who she was. She was devoted to the Virgin Mary, a devotion she shared with her beloved daughter Cynthia, who predeceased her in 2025. We take comfort in knowing that Norma has been reunited with Cynthia in heaven, together again in Mary's embrace.
For over 60 years, Norma was the beloved wife of Leonel Gómez. Their life together was a testimony to commitment, patience, and a love that endures through every season.
She was the dear mother of Gloria, Rolando (Patricia), and Jairo (Charlene), and the predeceased mother of Cynthia (2025).
Norma was a loving Abuelita to Adrian, Roger, Christian, Daniel, Marcos, Leo, Mireya, Noah, and Azys. They were her joy and her pride, and her face lit up whenever they were near. To many she was an adopted grandmother. She is also missed by her grandpuppies Pancho, Xander, Koda, and Oakley.
She never walked past anyone without stopping to say hello. A warm greeting, a smile, and a kind word were her gift to everyone she met.
Norma will be greatly missed and forever cherished by her family, her friends, and all whose lives she touched.
Norma's family will receive relatives and friends at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener (519-743-8900), on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe (St. John's Roman Catholic Church), 85 Strange St., Kitchener, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will follow at Williamsburg Cemetery, 1541 Fischer-Hallman Rd., Kitchener.
Rest in peace, Norma. Your strength, your faith, and your warm hello will live on in all of us.
