With heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Phyllis Eileen Piercey at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener, on August 1, 2020, in her 78th year. Born in Cape Ray, and resided in Port aux Basques, she was the daughter of the late Emmanuel and Amelia (Short) Pearce. Predeceased by her husband Eric Matthew (2006). Dearly loved mother of Kevin, Joanne (the late Steve Osmond), Wade (Heather Antle), Michelle (Glen Bonneville), Fraser (Leanne) and Phyllis (Guy Munden). Precious memories are left with her grandchildren Rebecca, Keisha, Justin (Emily), Meghan, Brianna (Ayden), Alexis and Adam, and great grandson Axel. Dear sister of Frank (Doreen) Pearce, Stan (Grace) Ellis, and Queen (Rick) Lillington, and the late Elsie Parsons, Theresa Currie, Caroline Pike, Frances Coffin, Dorcas Pearce, Catherine Osmond, Bridgette cousins, Llewellyn, Joseph and Nelson Pearce. Fondly remembered by her brothers and sisters-in-law Clarence (the late Lorraine), Mary (Stan) King, and Stanley Piercey. Also remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place, inurnment will be in Saint James Anglican Cemetery Barachois Hill, Port aux Basques, NL, on Friday August 6th 2021 at 2pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations in Phyllis' name can be made to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation.
