Passed away peacefully at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on May 30, 2025 at the age of 50 years. Survived by his loving partner, Whitney Graham as well as his mom Linda Carmichael and her husband Gerard Carmichael. Predeceased by his father Joseph Hepditch.
He will be sadly missed by special Aunt and Uncle Nicole and Wendel Schnurr and their family from Walkerton, as well as family members across Canada and the United States as well as his fur baby Sydney.
A swimming accident in 1997, left Randy a quadriplegic, but he embraced his injury with strength and determination, by not allowing his illness to rob him of his independence. We can all learn a life lesson by following the example he set. Special thanks to the numerous attendants that provided care for Randy over the past 28 years.
A fundraising golf tournament was held in 1998 for Randy's benefit, and it was intended to be a "one time event", but still continues to this date, and was aptly name the Tournament of Hope. Over the past 28 years the funds raised have assisted more than 340 individuals in the community. Randy was a long time member of the organizing committee.
Cremation has taken place. No visitation by personal request. A memorial service will be held at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900) on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Tournament of Hope, submitted through Independent Living Waterloo Region(ILWR) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. Cards available at the funeral home.
