Peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Thursday December 24, 2015 in his 79th year. Married for 45 years to his precious Jennie, she predeceased him on October 24, 2013. Richard is survived by several nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by his many friends.
Richard retired as Staff Sergeant on November 30, 1990 from the Waterloo Regional Police Services, Division 3. He was a member of Wilmot Masonic Lodge # 318 A.F. & A.M., and was Past President of the Waterloo Shrine Club. Richard was a proud member of the Mocha Shriners and he served as Marshall and led many parades in his white tuxedo. He received rank of Marshall on Emeritus and was a member of London Court 56, Royal Order of Jesters. Richard was also a proud and active member of Branch 530 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Waterloo.
Friends will be received at the Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., (at Westmount Rd), 519-743-8900, Tuesday from 2 – 5 p.m. Funeral Service will be from the Westmount Chapel on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., interment will follow at St. Peter’s Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children would be greatly appreciated in Richard's memory.
