Passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital on Wednesday June 6, 2018 in his 71st year.
Beloved husband of 50 years to Marjorie (nee Glousher), father to Jeff (Cindy) and Tracy (Rob). Cherished grandfather to Jaimee, Brady and Lilly and his grand-dogs Hercules and Max. Survived by sister-in-law June and nieces Heather, Kelly, Terri (Bruce) and Gwen (Gary). Predeceased by his parents, Ross and Florence Battler, brother Garry and sister Donna Scott. Roger will be missed by his family, friends, and coworkers. He spent his career as a diesel truck mechanic and was known as one of the best in the industry. He was a talented pitcher and played for the Kitchener Dodgers. In his early years, Roger was recruited by the Kitchener Rangers to be a forward for their hockey team. Everything Roger did was with skill, perseverance and perfection. Friends may call at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Memorial Service in celebration of Roger's life will be held on Sunday, June 10 at 11:30 am. At the family’s request (as it was Roger’s preference) please dress casual as he expects you all to return to work after. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
