Sallyann Ouilette-Bowman

Born 97 years ago in the Ukraine, her mother Maria brought Sallyann at the age of three and her older sister Charlotte to Canada to rejoin their father Anthony.

Predeceased by her husband of 47 years, J. Elmer Ouilette, in 1997. Also predeceased by her second husband, Gilbert John Bowman, in 2008.

Deeply cherished mother to Judi Ouilette (d. Ken McIsaac) of Goderich; Joanne (Michel) Quirion of Kitchener; and John (Jane) Ouilette of Sooke, B.C.

Sadly missed by her grandchildren, Laura (Donovan) and Matthew Ouilette; Marc (Sarah), Philippe, and Claire (Jared) Quirion; and great granddaughters, Elise and Evelynn Quirion. Also lovingly remembered by niece Laurie (Mike) Fraser of Brampton.

Survived by brothers Ken (Maureen) Warchola and John (d. Bernice) Warchola and sisters-in-law Margery and Sheila Warchola all of Whitecourt, Alberta.

Predeceased by sister Charlotte (d. Ted) Pufall of Waterloo; brothers Walter, Alec Warchola of Whitecourt, Alberta; and sister Jennie (d. George) Mitchell of Brights Grove, Ontario.

Sally spent 20 happy summers with Elmer and friends at their trailer in Bayfield, Ontario. She had been a 10-year member of the K-W Sweet Adeline Chorus where she was able to immerse herself in the joy of singing. Her greatest love, however, was spending time with her family.

Despite both failing health and eyesight in recent years, Sallyann retained her optimistic outlook and sense of humour. “I choose to be happy” was her mantra. She will be deeply missed.

Cremation has taken place. Friends and family will be received at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa St. S., Kitchener, (519-743-8900), for a visitation on Tuesday, October 15th, 2024 from 7 - 9 p.m. and Wednesday, October 16th, from 10 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre on Wednesday, October 16th, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
