Beloved and cherished wife of Wayne for 56 years. Dear mother of Shawn (Jenn) of Milton and Deanna of Kincardine. Loved grandmother of Alex, Amaya, and Creed. Dear sister of Barrie of Toronto. Predeceased by her parents Wilfred and Helen Martin, and her niece Helen.
Sandra was a strong woman who fought a good fight against cancer, partial dementia and dizziness in the eyes. She just got tired and is at peace now. She was a loving, devoted, caring, loyal partner to Wayne and was the best mother and grandmother. She enjoyed playing darts, 10 pin bowling, lawn bowling and the odd card game. She just loved playing and never took them too serious which drove Wayne nuts. She and Wayne built a house together and lived in it for 26 years where they enjoyed hosting Halloween and New Year's parties. She was always a hard worker at her jobs and meticulous at keeping the house clean. All our friends really liked Sandra because she was a truly honest person who never said a mean thing about anyone. Wayne had two pet names for her, Pookie and Fred which she answered to both and didn't mind at all. She was a real jewel and the world has lost another wonderful, adorably very nice person with a beautiful smile and tremendous disposition. My love forever, Wayne.
Sandra's family will welcome relatives and friends to be in attendance when she is laid to rest at Williamsburg Cemetery, 1541 Fischer-Hallman Rd., Kitchener, on Thursday, January 23, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to the Canadian Cancer Society, 55 St. Clair Ave. W., Suite 300, Toronto, ON M4V 2Y7.
