July 6th, 1983 - January 11th,2026
Sean passed away peacefully at the age of 42 with his loving wife, Tara, by his side. Sean is also survived by his beloved parents Frank and Michelle, his sister Jackie (Allan), and his cherished nieces Hailey and Kate. He will also be missed by his large community of extended family and dear friends.
A special thank you to the staff at Grand River Hospital for the exceptional care and support during Sean’s journey. Our deepest gratitude to Dr. Duncan Schwartz for his compassion and expertise.
Born in Windsor, Ontario, Sean moved to the KW area with his parents and sister at a young age. Drawn to anything with a motor from the time he was little—and guided by skills he learned from his dad—Sean’s love of cars led him to become a Licensed Automotive Technician. He spent his entire career at Byma Tire & Auto, a place filled with people he thought of as family.
Sean met his soulmate, his everything, Tara, in 2002 and they married in 2010. Sean had many other “loves” in his life. Some of those loves included his girl Maggie (Magzilla) and the dogs that came before her, travelling and exploring the world, his Tamarac Island cottage, food (especially pizza), time spent with family and friends, country music and the Tragically Hip, collecting licence plates and lending a hand to anyone in need - plus so much more.
Sean’s family invites you to Williamsburg Cemetery, 1541 Fisher-Hallman Rd. Kitchener January 23rd at 2:45 pm for the graveside service, followed by a Celebration of Sean’s life at Edelweiss Tavern, 600 Doon Village Road, Kitchener. Doors open at 4 pm. Tribute to Sean’s life will begin at 5 pm. In honour of Sean’s lifelong love of The Tragically Hip, friends and family are welcome—if you wish—to wear a favourite Tragically Hip t shirt. Please dress warmly and casually for the day.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Brain Injury Association of Waterloo Wellington, a charity that Sean and Tara have supported through an annual fundraising event with friends and family, would be greatly appreciated.
Sean, we love your smile, your explosive laugh, the way you tell a story (“long story short”), your gentle, generous and kind heart, your git-er-done can’t-stop-til-I-finish-it energy, your ability to fix or gerry-rig almost anything, and the home you created with Tara where everyone felt welcomed (the more the merrier!)
Sean, we will miss you but you are in our hearts forever.
