It is with profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, and friend, who passed away peacefully at home on September 16th at the age of 50.
He will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Mirka (nee Slazanska), and his sons, Christopher and Bryan, who were the centre of his world and his greatest source of pride. His family was always his number one priority, and the love he had for them was evident in all that he did.
He was the cherished son of Jozsef and Maria Gaal, and dear brother of Cathy (Satoru) Hoshino. He will also be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Martina (John) Jelinski, his nieces and nephews Blade and Jet Hoshino, and Hana and Nina Jelinski, as well as his mother-in-law Martha (the late Frank) Matejkinova, grandmother Anna Matejkinova, and great-uncle Laci.
Those who knew Tom will remember him for his patience, caring nature, and wonderful sense of humour. He had a way of bringing laughter to those around him and was always there for the people he loved. He was a devoted husband and father, a loving son and brother, and a true friend to many.
Outside of his family, he found joy in the simple things that made life special. He loved riding his bike, fishing, cars, and music. These passions, along with the memories made with the people he loved, will remain a lasting part of his family's memories of him.
His unexpected passing leaves an immeasurable emptiness in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave, the laughter he shared, and the memories he created will live on in his family and friends forever.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service has been held.
As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
