Webster George Ashmeade

He was born in Montego Bay, Jamaica, May 21, 1940, to the late Leslie and Veta (Hall) Ashmeade. He was a loving father of Wayne, Donovan, Cigale, and Leslie. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aaron, Jada, Jahred, Dontay, Dondre, Daquan, Carray, and Raicah, his great granddaughter Dilena, and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Jephthah and survived by Kelvin (Vinny), Trevor, Eleise (Nelly), Hope, Phillip (Baz), Alton.

In Jamaica, Webster attained full scholarship to attend at Cornwall College to study General Education. While in school, he enjoyed playing football (soccer) and cricket. He immigrated to Canada in 1975 and was a long-time resident of Mississauga, Ontario. Webster worked as an insurance salesman for many years and later started his own brokerage called Ashmeade Insurance Brokers. He won many awards for his sales performance. In the early 90s, he taught himself how to play golf and later helped to form the Ebony Six Plus Golf Club with his friends with whom he played golf for several years.

A visitation for Webster will be held Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm at Westmount Memorial Celebration Centre, 1001 Ottawa Street South, Kitchener, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm.
