Alma Lois Russell, born on April 4, 1933 to Echol and Kathleen Hamilton Bishop, passed away on December 14, 2025, at the age of 92. She grew up in Gate City, Virginia and graduated 1951 from Shoemaker High School. Lois was an LPN and worked locally for 35 years.
Lois was preceded in death by parents; husband of 66 years, Jimmy Russell, Sr.; grandson, Joshua Perry; sister, Elsie Herndon; brother, Otis Bishop; son-in-law, Douglas Shelby. She is survived by son, Jimmy "Ted" Russell, Jr. (Belinda); daughters, Teresa Russell and Noleka "Nicky" Shelby; grandchildren, Jason Perry, Travis Russell (Kirby), Eric Russell (Courtney), and Nicole Yates; great grandchildren, Teddy, Everett, Crosby, Howie, and Ford Russell, Emilia and Ezra Yates.
Private graveside service will take place at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
