Charles Franklin Hawkins

Charles Franklin Hawkins, age 76 of Knoxville, Tennessee passed away January 9, 2026 at Beverly Park Place Health and Rehab. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Charles graduated from South High School in 1969, attended college, and served in the U.S. Air Force. Charles was a plumbing specialist and, in his later years, he worked in the food service industry. Charles enjoyed James Bond movies, travel, math, and science. He loved animals, Mexican food, and cupcakes.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Hawkins and Gladys (Patsy) Franklin Hawkins; brother, David Hawkins; and special friend, Connie Captain. He is survived by children, Shannon, Shane, and Josh; grandchildren; sister, Mary Richardson (Duane) of South Carolina; and other extended family members and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beverly Park Place and the staff from UT Medical Center Hospice who loved and cared for Charles. We are also very grateful for the staff at Elder Care Law of Tennessee for their expert advice, guidance, visits, and support that Charles received.

Family will receive friends on Monday, February 9, 2026 from 11:30 am -12:30 pm with funeral service at 12:30 pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918. Chaplain Dexter Jordan to officiate. Interment will immediately follow at East Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 2200 E. Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
