

WINTER, ELIZABETH KATHERINE SHELTON SCARBROUGH TURNER - age 97, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Northhaven Health Care Center. She was a longtime member of Broadway Baptist Church in Knoxville. The children's program and WMU were very dear to her heart. A 1935 graduate of Knoxville High School and attended UT and Knoxville Business College. She was retired from the Tennessee School for the Deaf, Retiree Club member of IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), and a member of Acacia-May Chapter No. 24 Order of the Eastern Star. Preceded in death by her husbands, Perry Hobart Winter, Vaughn Robert Turner and Arthur James Scarbrough; parents, John and Laura Shelton; son, James Richard Scarbrough and infant boy; sister, Betty Rose Furnari; and brother, Eugene Shelton. Survivors include her daughter and spouse, Linda and Jerry Cash of Knoxville; daughter, Anna Marie Turner of Winter Park, FL; four grandchildren and spouses, David Cash, Steve and Rita Cash, Bobby and Corrie Fritts, Chuck and Mindy Fritts; five great grandchildren, Olivia, T.J., Tyler, Ella and Noah Fritts. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Broadway Baptist Church, 815 North Broadway, Knoxville, TN 37917. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. in the Lynnhurst\Greenwood Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim Turley officiating.
