Hayes, Gladys M., age 76, departed her earthly life at home on July 24, 2013 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was a loving, compassionate wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband of fifty six years, Johnny; parents, Charlie and Lissie Wright; sisters, Edith Laycock and Nell Cobble; brothers, Jerry Wright and Joseph Boone.
She is survived by daughters, Carolyn Shelton, Sue and Steve Ramsey; grandson, Bryan, and Emily Shelton; great-granddaughter, Bryanna Shelton and former son-in-law, John Shelton. The family wishes to thank the staff at Thompson Cancer Center for the wonderful care they gave her.
The family will receive friends Friday from 12 – 1 pm at Lynnhurst-Greenwood Chapel. Graveside to follow at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
