Marie grew up in Waverly, Tennessee. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served as the Church Secretary for eight years. The family moved to Powell, Tennessee in 1973. She and her family became members of Wallace Memorial Baptist Church that same year. Marie loved people and had many wonderful friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. Marie loved and supported her family and always enjoyed having them come home.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years Joe Parker; parents, John Henry and Dora Lee Holland; son-in-law David Shannon; seven sisters and four brothers.
Marie is survived by her children Nancy Shannon and Steven (Joline) Parker; grandson Jonathan Shannon and several special nieces and nephews.
The family welcomes friends to a Visitation on Friday, June 13, 2025, from 12pm-2pm, at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home with a Funeral Service to follow at 2pm. Family and friends will process to Greenwood Cemetery for a Graveside Service following the Funeral.
