Jack Terry McNew, age 83, of Hartsville, SC, formerly of Knoxville, TN, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017. He was a Navy veteran and graduate of University of Tennessee, Class of 1959. He retired from Sonoco Products Company of Hartsville, SC in 1989 where he served as Director of Transportation. Jack was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Hartsville. He is preceded in death by his parents, James H. and Kathleen McNew, his wife of 49 years, Linda P’Simer McNew, and his brother, James McNew. Mr. McNew is survived by his daughters, Teri Coleman of Florence, SC and Robin Garrison of Valrico, FL and her husband David; five granddaughters, Cortney and Stephanie Coleman, and Kayla, Jamie, and Cori Garrison; and one great-granddaughter, Harper Fidler. Graveside Services will be 3:30 pm Thursday, at Lynnhurst Cemetery, Knoxville, TN with Rev. Pat Polis officiating. Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, will be serving the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church of Hartsville, SC, or to the American Heart Association.
