James Franklin Finley, age 92, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October, 7, 2017. He has been a resident at NHC Nursing Home on Emerald Ave. since November 2016. He loved fishing working in flowers, and being outdoors. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Pauline Finley; sons, Steven and Melvin Finley; brothers, Fred, Eugene, Ed, David, and Harold Finley; sister, Christine Petree. Survived by his wife, Betty Mynatt Finley and her son, David; children by his first marriage, James Finley, Jr., Rhonda Robbins, Sherry Lamb, Darrell Finley, and Diane Haynes; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews; he loved his children. Special thanks to Houston, Deidra, Michelle, Shavona, and Sharon at NHC who made his days happy. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5 – 7 pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr. The chapel service will follow at 7.
