Hinds, James T. "Tommy" 79 of Powell, TN passed away peacefully Tuesday, December 15, 2020. He was a proud U.S. Army veteran. Tommy faithfully served the community with KPD for 30 years as a Patrol Division SGT and also in the Inspections Office. After retirement, he worked in the Knox County Criminal Courts as a deputy for 12 more years. Tommy served as the President of the FOPD where he was also a member. He also belonged to the Moose Lodge Knoxville 1560 and a proud supporter of the Shriners. Tommy was preceded in death by parents, Hubert and Katie Hinds; life long companion, Margaret Norman. He is survived by sister, Jane Davis; niece, Kathy Davis; nephews, Mike and Tim Davis; many friends and extended family who loved him dearly. Graveside service will take place Friday, December 18th at 3:00pm at Lynnhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at www.lls.org.
