

Joe Green, age 79, of Knoxville, passed away February 28, 2017. He was a lifelong baseball and New York Yankees fan. He also made lifelong friends and memories coaching Taco Rancho baseball teams. His greatest pleasure was watching his grandson Andrew play college baseball at E.T.S.U. He also loved to fish and was a member of the Sunshine Boys. He was a member of Loveland Baptist Church and had retired from the Knox County School system. Preceded in death by parents, Carl and Hazel Fielden Green; wife, Wanda Beeler Green; sisters, Martha Jean Richards, Charlotte Yanniello, Bernice Carson and husband Robert G. Survived by sons, Mickey Green (Melissa), Bobby Green (Missy); daughters, Tina Green and Gina Green; grandchildren, Krista Gaddis (Tyler), Andrew Green, Alex Green, and Max Green; great grandson, Isaac Link Gaddis; sisters, Doris Flynn, and Brenda McMahan (Don); brother-in-law, Jim Yanniello; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to caregivers, daughter-in-law Melissa Green and Melissa Yarber for the loving care they gave him in his final days. The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 pm Saturday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr. The funeral will follow with Oliver Wolfenbarger and Tony Brewer officiating. Family and friends will meet Sunday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home by 10:45 am to go in procession to Lynnhurst Cemetery for the 11 am graveside service.
