Michael R. Hearn

Hearn, Michael Ray, of Powell, TN passed from this life to his eternal home in Heaven on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Mike was a faithful husband, father, son, friend, and follower of Jesus Christ. His selfless life and kind, gracious heart has been a true testimony of God’s Amazing Grace. His passion and servant heart lives on in the many lives he has touched.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lori Utley Hearn and their two children, Davis and Mallory; father and mother Jim and Verlyn Hearn of Leesburg, Indiana; brother, David Hearn and family of Jonesborough, TN; in-laws, Carl and Pam Utley and family of Granbury, TX; many other brothers and sisters in Christ. It is with both great sorrow and rejoicing that we say farewell, but not good-bye for we know we will see him again in Heaven when the Lord calls us home, too!

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 5 – 7 pm Friday, December 20, at First Baptist Church, Powell, TN followed by a service to celebrate Mike’s life. Pastor Phil Jones and Rev. Kent Williams will officiate. A graveside service will be held at Lynnhurst Cemetery on Saturday, December 21 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mike’s honor to Salama Baptist Orphanage in Kenya, Africa care of First Baptist Church, 7706 Ewing Rd. Powell, TN 37849 and/or the mission endeavors of First Baptist Church Powell.
