

Paul Sterling Hall went home to be with Jesus on December 31, 2017 after a brief battle with lung cancer. Born March 27, 1939, he lived a life of service to his country, community, and family. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and was employed by the City of Knoxville Fire Department for 30-years where he elevated to the level of Captain and ultimately a Codes Enforcement Officer. He was of the Baptist faith and loved our Lord. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with his lifelong friends at Whittle Springs Golf Course.
Paul is preceded in death by his brothers Don Hall, Richard Knight, and Dickie Brown, and his sisters Bobbie Larcum and Patricia Potter. He is survived by his wife of 57-years Dolores; four sons and two daughters in law, Jeff, Charlie & Stephanie, Mike, and Mitch & Jennifer; four granddaughters Mary-Anne, Paige, Gracie, and Rheagan; four grandsons Michael, Hunter, Benjamin, and Perry; one great granddaughter Adelynn Anne; sister Janie Burkhart; brother and sister in law David & Paulette Knight; loving sisters in law Geri Blair and Linda Wallace; a very special nephew Roger “Brother” Potter; and many other friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday, January 6, 2018 from 1 – 3 pm at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Dr. The funeral service will follow. Graveside service will be 2 pm Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
He was loved and adored by everyone that was fortunate to know him and will be greatly missed.
