Bruce Edward Miller

Bruce was born September 2, 1932 to Gustav E. and Margaret Louise Miller in Mercedes, TX. He graduated from Harlingen High in 1950. Bruce married Janice M. La Fond in 1963. He served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years as a Submariner aboard the USS Crevalle. Bruce worked for C.P. & L. as a shift supervisor at the La Palma Power Plant in San Benito for over 36 years, before retiring. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, and skilled wood craftsman, building custom furniture pieces for family and friends.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife, Janice Marie Miller; daughter, Michelle Sanders and son in law, Lt. Col. Todd B. Sanders, USMC; granddaughter, Jordyn Elizabeth Sanders; grandson, Tyler Miller Sanders; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Wanda Miller.

A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 @ 2 pm in Heavenly Grace Chapel with Pastor Mark Coppins officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #205.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Dogs for the Deaf, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, or a charity of one’s choice.
