Gloria Dena, born on October 22, 1932, in Guamúchil, Sinaloa, Mexico, was the beloved daughter of José and Leonor León. On the foundation of her parents’ love and faith, she grew into a woman of extraordinary strength, compassion, and devotion.
A dedicated wife and the proud mother of five daughters, Gloria poured her heart into her family. She raised her children with unwavering love, teaching them respect, humility, and the importance of honoring God in all things. Her home was a place of warmth, prayer, and gentle guidance.
Gloria was a long‑time member of The Salvation Army Corps of Harlingen, where she faithfully served as a Senior Soldier. Her commitment to ministry reflected her deep love for Jesus Christ. She lived her faith openly and joyfully, becoming a spiritual anchor not only for her family but for everyone blessed to know her.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters:
Gloria Laura & José Luis Cortinas
Alma Leticia Dena
Dora Luz (Lucy) Dena
Lorena Dena
Yvonne Linette Dena Reyes & Faustino Reyes Jr.
Her life was further enriched by the many grandchildren and great‑grandchildren who adored her. Each one carries a piece of her legacy—her kindness, her laughter, her gentle spirit.
Gloria found joy in the simple, beautiful acts of love: gardening, nurturing life from the soil, and crocheting gifts for those she cherished. Her hands were always busy creating comfort, beauty, and warmth.
We give all glory to our Lord, Jesus Christ, for blessing us with her presence—her smile, her laughter, and her boundless love. Though our hearts ache with her absence, we rejoice knowing she is now celebrating in the glorious presence of our Heavenly Father, restored, radiant, and rejoicing.
She was a blessing to many. Her memory will forever be a light that guides us.
